Spain’s Imira Entertainment has acquired two shortform series to sit alongside its flagship title Lucky Fred at Mipcom.
The Lighthouse Island (26×6′) is a 2D preschool series created with TV Catalunya (TVC), publishing group Editorial Claret and illustrator Pilarín Bayés. It follows an adventurous seven-year-old girl who takes a holiday on a magical island.
Joco (52×3′) is a series of short non-verbal physical comedy sketches from Spanish prodco El Terrat. It features a clumsy but good-natured character who tries to solve the problems he invariably creates for himself.
Imira has taken global rights to both shows, which will sit alongside Lucky Fred, its new copro with TVC, Rai Fiction and the Philippines’ Top Draw Animation. Fred has been pre-sold into more than 150 territories, including to France’s TF1 and multiple Nickelodeon and Disney Channel feeds.
